Our neighbor, Mrs Cole, was a kind, friendly woman.

She was as round as a beach ball. You could roll her down the street.

My father was the first in our town to issue licenses around the time of

moving from horses to cars.  Monsieur Matthew would often drive around the corner shouting, "whoa whoa whoa". We all ran out of the way.  He had to drive in to the ditch or he would have gone in the lake.  Mama was not happy with Papa for giving Monsieur Matthew his licence.  But Papa was not a good driver either.

When I was a young boy I had a big helium balloon.

My father was getting mad because I kept knocking things over. He said, "If you knock one more thing over I'm going to let your balloon go outside. I knocked one more thing over and he let my balloon go outside. I watched in go up and up.
